Privacy Policy
Last updated:
DrafterDaily publishes editorial analysis at drafterdaily.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what control you have over it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than boilerplate. Questions about anything below: drafterdaily@gmail.com.
Who is responsible for your data
DrafterDaily is an independently operated publication based in India. For the purposes of the GDPR, DrafterDaily is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. You can reach the person responsible for data protection at drafterdaily@gmail.com.
What we collect
Information you give us directly
- Anything you send us — if you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply. That is the only personal data you can give us directly: there is no sign-up, no account and no mailing list on this site.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data — pages viewed, approximate location at country or city level, referring site, device type and browser. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you individually.
- Log data — standard server logs including IP address, timestamp and requested URL, retained briefly for security and debugging.
We do not ask for, and do not want, your name, phone number, postal address, date of birth or payment details. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Advertising and third-party cookies
This site is monetised in part through Google AdSense. This section is the part that matters most, so it is stated plainly:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also set and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, to collect information as a result of ad serving on this site.
How to opt out:
- Opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- Opt out of many networks at once at optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. The site will continue to work.
More detail on how Google handles data from sites that use its services: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Where advertising is served to visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, a consent notice is presented before any non-essential cookies are set, using a Google-certified consent management platform. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time by reopening that notice, and you can block or clear cookies in your browser regardless.
Cookies we use
| Type | Purpose | Set by |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Core site function and security | DrafterDaily |
| Analytics | Aggregate traffic measurement | Analytics provider |
| Advertising | Ad serving, frequency capping, measurement | Google and its ad partners |
| Consent | Remembering your cookie choices | Consent management provider |
Essential and consent cookies are always set. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only where permitted by law or by your consent.
How we use your data
- To reply to you, if you emailed us
- To understand which articles are read, so we can decide what to publish next
- To serve and measure advertising
- To keep the site secure and working
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share anything you send us with advertisers, affiliates or data brokers.
Affiliate links
Some articles contain affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies to attribute the referral. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full explanation of how this works and how it does and does not influence what we publish.
How long we keep things
- Analytics data— retained in aggregate; individual-level records are not retained beyond the provider's default window
- Server logs — approximately 30 days
- Emails you send us — as long as needed to handle your query
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or UK (GDPR), you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, port it elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time. Our legal bases are consent (non-essential cookies) and legitimate interest (security, aggregate analytics, replying to your email).
If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. DrafterDaily does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CPRA. You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any right, email drafterdaily@gmail.com with the subject line “Data request”. We will respond within 30 days.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of providers, each with its own privacy policy: Google (advertising, via AdSense), our analytics provider and our hosting provider. Linking to an external site is not an endorsement of its privacy practices — once you leave drafterdaily.com, this policy no longer applies.
Security
We use HTTPS across the site and keep collected data to a minimum, which is the most effective protection available. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We will update the “last updated” date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be noted on the homepage for at least 14 days.
